find out moreI joined the a:Gender ERG to promote understanding of gender-related topics within Brit and the broader London Market. Membership has given me the opportunity to network with colleagues and share experiences and ideas. We also work on various initiatives throughout the year to both share knowledge and help others. I love that we’re encouraged to ‘speak up’, be heard and put forward our ideas.
An example of this is the ‘Lord Mayor’s We Can Be’ event, which helps to promote the financial services industry to school aged girls considering their future careers. It was great to represent Brit and help to support the next generation.
It’s important to shine a light on how gender impacts us at work and how it can define our experience, in numerous ways, throughout our career. I feel we all need to be aware of our differences, so we can understand each other better and combat potential bias.
