Brit Global Specialty USA grows Professional Liability offering with two new hires

Brit Ltd (“Brit”) announces two appointments to its growing Brit Global Specialty USA (“BGSU”) Professional Liability team. Tom Rea joins as Senior Vice President, Miscellaneous Professional Liability and Jim Kelly as Assistant Vice President, Construction Professional.

Tom Rea joined in April 2018, is based in Glastonbury, Connecticut and reports to Tom Bongi, Executive Vice President, Professional Liability for BGSU. He will focus on writing miscellaneous professional liability for US domiciled companies through wholesale intermediaries.

Tom brings over fifteen years’ experience of growing and leading Professional Liability underwriting teams. He joins from Hiscox USA, where he was Vice President, Professional Liability. Prior to Hiscox, Tom spent seven years at Travelers and seven years at Business Risk Partners.

Jim Kelly joined effective 7 May 2018, is based in New York and reports to Rich Hartman, Senior Vice President, Construction Professional. He comes to Brit with a wealth of experience in the Construction Professional industry. Most recently, Jim was an Executive Underwriter with The Hartford in their Construction Professional unit. Prior to this role, Jim was with XL Catlin.

These appointments follow the hire of Tom Bongi, as Executive Vice President of Professional Lines, in August 2017 to establish a Professional Lines offering for BGSU and Rich Hartman as Senior Vice President, Construction Professional in January 2018.
