Brit appoints senior Kidnap and Ransom Underwriter

Brit Ltd (“Brit”) announces the appointment of Stephen Quinton to the role of Class Underwriter, Kidnap and Ransom (“K&R”), effective 3rd September 2018. He will report to Andrew Bowers, Divisional Director, Accident & Health (“A&H”).

Stephen brings over 30 years of experience across underwriting and claims. He joins Brit from Travelers Syndicate Management where he was Head of Accident & Special Risks for Travelers Syndicate 5000. In this role, Stephen was responsible for managing a team writing a diverse portfolio including marine piracy, kidnap and ransom and extortion risks on a global basis.

Stephen has been underwriting with Travelers Syndicate 5000 (previously St Paul at Lloyd’s) since 1994 and successfully launched and led its K&R portfolio of business in 2000. Stephen began his career as a claims and reinsurance technician. He is ACII qualified and holds an Executive MBA from Cass Business School.
