  • Employment Type Graduate Scheme

We are looking for two Graduates to join Brit’s Underwriting teams.

You’ll provide a professional and effective underwriting assistant service across a variety of teams that make up our underwriting function.

Brit provides a wide range of clients with insurance and reinsurance cover. It's a risk service that strives to help our clients pursue progress, push boundaries, and facilitate change.

Fundamentally the underwriting team exists to help underwrite products that enable people and businesses to face the future and thrive.

Our Underwriters work closely with our claims and risk selection teams. It’s this collaborative approach that gives us real insight into the risks that our clients face, and that enables us to tailor our products appropriately.

We see every interaction with our clients as an opportunity to create change for the better.

We underwrite risk to enable businesses to design new products, develop new processes and build new structures.

You will be assisting the Underwriting team with the day-to-day running of the division, including risk recording, aggregate monitoring and running written and signed premium income reports.

In the first two years of your career with us you will rotate across up to six areas of the business to gain a breadth of experience across our various product areas, having the opportunity to get to know and gain experience with a number of the team members, as well as receiving structured training and development, access to senior management and support towards the completion of the Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Applications are open until 14th December 2023.

Hear from Suleiman Ahmed, Underwriting Graduate 2022-24

“The past year on the Brit Graduate scheme has taken me round several divisions and helped me understand the unique dynamics of the Lloyd's market. I have had the ability to get involved from day one, meeting clients and dealing with complex underwriting decisions, all of which have enhanced my learning. Alongside underwriting I have had the opportunity to work on projects within the actuarial divisions to maximise my learning and understanding of underwriting complex risks. I am excited to continue my rotations around the business and gain further insights.”
