Chance to Shine

Grassroots cricket and support of the game at community level is important to Brit Insurance. We have worked alongside our commercial sponsorship partners in a number of ways since we first became involved in cricket in 2004.

We are therefore delighted to announce an important extension to our grassroots support of the game, as we become principal partner of the 'Chance to Shine' campaign, including the Brit Insurance National Cricket Day and the Brit Insurance Annual Achievement Awards.

'Chance to Shine' is a £50million programme launched by The Cricket Foundation and is one of the biggest grassroots sports development initiatives in the UK. It aims to impact the lives of over 2 million young people by 2015, delivering cricket skills through a structured school-club relationship with 39 county cricket boards. Its work transcends ‘on the pitch’ activities to reach into classrooms as well by linking into the national curriculum. In 2011 alone, 'Chance to Shine' had over 347,000 young people participate, with over 45,000 competitive matches being played.
