Marine![]() The marine treaty account is written entirely on an excess of loss basis. We aim to build lasting relationships with clients based on trust, understanding, personal interaction and adaptability. We are able to accept business on behalf of both Brit insurance Ltd and our Lloyd’s Syndicate 2987 at clients’ option, although the majority of the portfolio is now written on behalf of Brit Insurance Ltd. Our underwriting philosophy and capacity are identical for both entities. We have the ability to process business directly from producing brokers throughout the world into our company, in addition to the standard London market bureau based processing. Clients include both international and London reassureds on a direct excess of loss basis and business is written worldwide. Our normal maximum line is $5m is respect of International business and $10m for London cedants on any one reassured/loss scenario. We try wherever possible to link with colleagues in other areas of the Reinsurance division so as to provide as wide a solution to clients’ requirements as possible.
