Brit Insurance establishes underwriting presence in Northern Ireland - Appoints Belfast-based Motor Fleet and Property & Combined underwriters

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC ("Brit Insurance"), has established an underwriting presence in Northern Ireland by appointing Lawrence Burgess as Motor Fleet Underwriter and Joe Murphy as Property & Combined Package Underwriter.

Both took up their positions at the beginning of March and will report to Andy Fitzgerald, Brit's Scotland and Northern Ireland Regional Manager.

Joe Murphy joins Brit Insurance from Royal and SunAlliance in Belfast, where he has worked for 15 years. He has experience in a range of commercial classes, with particular focus on underwriting property and package business for the Northern Ireland market. Lawrence Burgess joins Brit Insurance after 21 years at Zurich, also in Belfast, 15 of which were spent handling motor fleet business.

Brit UK has made these appointments as part of its strategy to grow its share of the Northern Ireland market.
