Jonathan Turner becomes active underwriter of Syndicate 2987

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC, the UK-based international general insurance and reinsurance group, today announces that Jonathan Turner has been appointed Active Underwriter of Syndicate 2987 at Lloyd's of London, managed by Brit Syndicates Limited.

In his new role, Jonathan assumes full responsibility for the business activities of Syndicate 2987, as well as becoming the primary point of contact between Brit Insurance and Lloyd's of London.

Dane Douetil, Chief Executive Officer of Brit Insurance Holdings PLC, commented:

"Jonathan's appointment as Active Underwriter enables him to make a more significant contribution to the Group, which includes becoming a member of the Portfolio Management Committee. He has a wide ranging underwriting and management background and his experience and strategic thought have been instrumental in driving the success of Brit Reinsurance. I am pleased that he has accepted this expanded role."

Jonathan joined Brit Insurance in 2005 to head up its reinsurance operations. He was appointed to its Executive Management Committee in 2006 and became CEO of Brit Reinsurance in 2007.
