Brit Insurance and Augsburg Re announce renewal of agreement

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC ("Brit Insurance"), the UK-domiciled international general insurer and reinsurer, today announces the renewal of its binding authority with Augsburger Rück Kontor GmbH ("Augsburg Re"), effective 1st January 2008.

The agreement, now entering its sixth year, enables Augsburg Re to underwrite aviation non-proportional reinsurance for and on behalf of Lloyd's Syndicate 2987 and Brit Insurance Ltd.

Augsburg Re is a specialist underwriting agency established in Augsburg, Germany in November 2002. An approved Lloyd's coverholder, it began writing business on behalf of Brit Insurance in December 2002.
