New Head of Sales and Business Development Managers

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC today announces the appointment of George Maxwell to the position of Head of Sales for its Brit UK division. Joining George Maxwell are three new Business Development Managers: Kevin Coaker, Rob Faulkner and Mick Hunter.

The team is completed by Simon England, who joined Brit Insurance from Chubb earlier this year.

George Maxwell joins Brit Insurance from Royal & SunAlliance (RSA), where he has spent over 30 years. His most recent role at RSA was Regional Director, Property Investors, in which he was responsible for designing and implementing RSA's Property Investors regional infrastructure. Prior to this, he was Corporate Director, Scotland and Northern Ireland and Corporate Director, North. He is also a former president of the Insurance & Actuarial Society in his native Glasgow.

Simon Cooter, Distribution Director at Brit Insurance, commented:

"George is well known and well respected in the broker marketplace and his experience and contacts will be a major addition to our UK business. His immediate focus will be the development of our broker relationships on a national and regional basis. He will also be spearheading a number of strategic sales and distribution initiatives."

Kevin Coaker has over a decade of experience in commercial insurance. He joins Brit Insurance from Allianz Commercial where he has been Development Manager since 2004, based in Chelmsford. Prior to this, he was Senior Commercial Risks Underwriter at Allianz Cornhill International, U.K Non-marine Underwriter at Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance Co, and Commercial Underwriter at Royal & SunAlliance. He will be based in the Group's London office.

Rob Faulkner also has over a decade of experience in the industry and joins Brit Insurance from Allianz Commercial, where he was Senior Business Developer. Prior to this, he was Area Development Manager for Towergate Underwriting Agency Management. He will be based in the Group’s Birmingham office.

Mick Hunter joins Brit Insurance from Royal & SunAlliance, where he has spent five years as Key Account Manager, responsible for account management and broker relationships in the North London region. He previously held a number of underwriting roles in both commercial and personal lines. He will be based in the Group’s Reading office.

George Maxwell commented:
