Appointment of Chief Investment Officer and Head of Group Tax

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC ("Brit Insurance" or "the Group"), today announces the appointment of Nigel Bennett as Chief Investment Officer and Neil Sharman as Head of Group Tax. Both take up these up these newly-created positions immediately.

Nigel worked for Brit Insurance as a consultant from 2004 and in 2005 he joined as Group Treasurer. He has 20 years’ experience in financial markets with Royal Bank of Scotland, ABN Amro and specialist risk management operations.

Neil Sharman is a chartered accountant and tax adviser with over 20 years’ tax experience. Prior to joining Brit Insurance, Neil was Head of Tax at a mid-sized firm of chartered accountants. He was previously a director at Deloitte and Touche and has held a number of senior tax positions in the financial services industry, including HSBC and Barclays.
