Appointment of Distribution Director, UK Division

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC ("Brit Insurance" or "the Group") is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Cooter to the newly-created position of Distribution Director, UK Division. Simon takes up his post at Brit Insurance in March 2007.

Simon joins Brit Insurance after 18 years with the Royal & Sun Alliance Group (“RSA”), where he held a number of senior positions. As Director of Small Business, he set up and ran the RSA Enterprise business from 1999-2006. In this role, he was also responsible for e-business and acted as a Director of Polaris UK Ltd. In early 2005 he additionally took on responsibility for its Motability operation. He had overall responsibility for 700 staff and more than half a million customers. Prior to joining RSA, Simon worked as a management consultant.

He will be working closely with our leadership team to develop distribution strategy and execution, and his experience of regional distribution and contact and relationship management will be invaluable.
