Appointment of Underwriting Director, UK Division

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC (“Brit Insurance” or “the Company”), the UK-domiciled international general insurer and reinsurer, today announces the appointment of Ray Cox to the newly-created role of Underwriting Director, UK Division on 1st December 2006.

Ray joins Brit Insurance after over 30 years at Royal & Sun Alliance Group, where he was most recently Director, Underwriting and Risk, for its UK business, responsible for underwriting strategy and operational management. Prior to this, he held various senior positions, including Director of UK Underwriting and Director of Commercial Underwriting.
