Appointment of Underwriter

Brit Insurance Holdings PLC ("Brit"), today announces the appointment of Karyn Williams as a US Professional Indemnity underwriter in its Professional Risks division with the London Market Underwriting Centre.

Karyn Williams has over 20 years' experience in the insurance industry and joins Brit after over 10 years at AF Beazley Syndicate 623, where she was most recently Senior Underwriter of its US E&O small business portfolio. Prior to this, she spent four years at Robert Fleming Insurance Brokers, concentrating on US A/E E&O business. She also has extensive experience in claims management and legal and account analysis.

Mike Sibthorpe, London Market Underwriting Director said "Karyn's track record in building and managing a portfolio of smaller accounts is outstanding. She will play a significant role in developing this business at Brit and is a valuable addition to our Professional Risks team."
