Brit Insurance to become a lead sponsor of the Professional Cricketers' Association
Brit Insurance, the UK general insurer, is to become the joint lead sponsor of the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA) for the 2005 cricket season.
November 17, 2004
The one-year deal further strengthens Brit Insurance's commercial ties with the game which already include the high profile sponsorship of Surrey CCC, The Brit Oval and the Bunburys Cricket Club.
The agreement once again underlines Brit's commitment to support the game at all levels. Sponsorship monies generated from the deal will contribute towards the funding of the PCA's highly successful 'Cricket in the Community' schemes and will also be used to maintain ongoing PCA initiatives aimed at providing support to current and former professionals.
Neil Eckert, Chief Executive of Brit Insurance, said:
"We are delighted to support an Association with whom we share an important common objective – that of supporting and developing the game at all levels.
"With the return of the Australians next summer and the prospect of a highly competitive battle for The Ashes, English cricket will be under the spotlight in 2005. This presents a valuable platform to showcase and promote the game in this country and we are proud that our sponsorship investment will help to fund many important PCA initiatives aimed at meeting those specific objectives."
As a lead sponsor of the PCA, Brit will profit from a range of commercial benefits including branding at all PCA events, access to Team England players, networking opportunities amongst the PCA's family of business partners and the right to a host of valuable PCA hospitality events.
Richard Bevan, Chief Executive of the PCA, said:
"On behalf of the Professional Cricketers' Association, our members and all our executive, I would like to extend our thanks to Brit Insurance for making this commitment to the PCA and we look forward to embarking on a long and profitable relationship for both organisations."
