Brit Insurance and Celebrity Players support the Bunbury's

Brit Insurance already sponsors Surrey County Cricket Club and the Brit Insurance Oval. However, the Brit commitment to cricket does not end with the first class game as it embraces both charitable and grass roots activity.
The Bunburys is the World's number one charity cricket team which has already raised over £8M for good causes. Regular players have included Eric Clapton, Bill Wyman, and many other famous names from stage and screen - also the World's greatest cricketers such as Ian Botham and Sir Viv Richards - as well as many of today's current Test playing stars.
The Bunburys also support the English Schools Cricket Festival held in July - which has discovered almost every cricketer to have gone on to play for England in the last decade.
Brit Insurance is to become the Bunbury's primary sponsor in 2004, and the 'Brit Bunbury Bunny' is to become the team icon. In addition to its cash sponsorship which will allow the Bunbury's to stage events, Brit is donating advertising and signage to help sell the match tickets which raise the money for the various charities.
Brit's sponsorship will commence with a fixture on 30th May at Imber Court, Esher Surrey, where a team captained by Sir Trevor McDonald will be raising money for the National Missing Persons Helpline. Confirmed players already include;
Sir Trevor McDonald (ITV/ITN), Barry Gibb (Bee Gees), Rudolph Walker (Eastenders), Matt Dawson (England Rugby), Mark Butcher, Michael Atherton, Philip DeFrietas, Robin Smith (all England Cricketers), Gary Mason (Boxer), plus of course Bunbury Team Manager David English MBE (the 'Loon' and former 'pop star' manager).
The Bunburys will play 24 fixtures around the UK in 2004. These will include a spectacular event at the Brit Insurance Oval on 27th August (Bank Holiday Friday) in aid of the Ben Hollioake Memorial Fund.
