BRIT restructures underwriting activities - Taking full advantage of market conditions and dual regulatory environment

BRIT Insurance Holdings PLC ("BRIT") is pleased to announce a substantial reorganisation of its underwriting activities.

Dane Douetil, currently Chief Executive of BRIT Insurance Ltd., the non-Lloyd's insurer and reinsurer, has been appointed to the Board of BRIT Syndicates Ltd. as Chief Executive. In effect, Mr. Douetil becomes Chief Executive of all BRIT's underwriting acitivities.

Roger Field remains Chairman of BRIT Syndicates Ltd. and joins the Board of BRIT Insurance Ltd.

In future 'BRIT Underwriting' will be the generic brand name for all underwriting activity across both the Lloyd's and the non-Lloyd's platforms.

Neil Eckert, Chief Executive of BRIT Insurance Holdings PLC, commenting on Dane Douetil's appointment said: "Dane’s task is to bring common underwriting methodology and discipline across both our platforms. We want the market to know us as 'BRIT Underwriting' and this move unifies our business for the benefit of our customers and our team."
