Our sports sponsorship focuses on cricket. In 2006, building on an existing deal, we announced the largest domestic cricket sponsorship in England of Surrey County Cricket Club and of its ground, the Brit Insurance Oval. This deal will take us through to 2010. Also in 2006, we became the Insurance Partner of the Test Match Grounds, allowing our regional offices to likewise benefit from the brand association and exposure and enjoy first class relationship-building opportunities at Trent Bridge, Headingley, Old Trafford, Durham Chester-le-Street and Edgbaston.

In May 2008 we entered a two-year broadcast deal with Sky Sports, becoming sponsors of their Test Match cricket (live, highlights and repeats) for 2008 and 2009, as well as the Cricket Writers on TV programme. This is our first broadcast sponsorship. It is an excellent reinforcement of our existing cricket sponsorships and will contribute significantly to building our brand among our key audiences.

Competition
As part of our broadcast sponsorship with Sky Sports, a Brit Insurance advert was shown during Test Match cricket and the Cricket Writers on TV programme in 2008 and 2009. The advert featured a talented young cricketer whose identity has caused some mystery amongst cricket fans.

We recently ran a competition to guess this cricketer's identity, and offered the chance to win a signed bat and shirt. Paul Lyon and Kelly Andrews were the two lucky winners who both correctly guessed that the cricketer in the adverts is Laurie Evans. Thank you to everyone who took part and congratulations to our winners.
