Stephen has 27 years’ claims experience at both insurance and broker companies, dealing with significant claims in liability, property and professional classes in the UK and internationally. Stephen is responsible for defining our UK claims strategy, encompassing our policy of “Treating Customers Fairly” and providing leadership in respect of service-to-client relationships.

Douglas has 25 years’ claims experience, in both insurance and broker companies, dealing with significant claims in professional, property and liability classes in the UK, with additional experience in the USA and internationally. Douglas is responsible for our technical response to UK claims and the quality of our service to clients.

Paul has 24 years of unbroken insurance claims experience, mainly in the motor claims arena, covering all aspects of claims management from the handling of complex and high value claims through to leading and mentoring claims teams, delivering improvements in technical performance, customer satisfaction and operational best practice. Paul is responsible for the delivery of our motor claims strategy.

Liability Class Claims Manager

David has 21 years’ claims experience in the UK claims market dealing with liability, property and motor claims both within insurance and loss adjusting companies. David is responsible for the implementation of Brit Insurance Claims strategy for liability claims in the UK and Ireland and was recently promoted to Class Claims Manager.

Steve joined Brit Insurance in 2009 to head up our property claims team as Class Claims Manager. Steve has over 30 years experience in the industry working for both direct and broker intermediated insurers. Steve has managed claims and underwriting teams and is experienced in relationship management interfacing between company executives, Brokers, customers and underwriters.

John has 34 years' experience with Lloyd's brokers, solicitors and Brit Insurance, dealing with all aspects of claims handling within the motor portfolio. John's strengthens our Broker and client relationship across the claims cycle including renewal. John handles some of our most prestigious and long-term client relationships.

Senior Claims Technician

Tony has over 30 years’ experience in both Lloyd’s syndicates and insurance companies dealing predominantly with fleet and haulage motor claims. Tony is part of the claims management team concentrating on large claims and has responsibility for the haulage section. He also undertakes audit management for both internal claims and outsourcers.

Tony Towers
Motor Claims Section Leader

Tony has 31 years’ experience in motor claims, 19 as a manager. His team deals with business sourced from Manchester and Glasgow regional underwriting offices. His role with the regions is to 'cement' relations with clients, and assist in the acquisition of new motor business in conjunction with our regional underwriters. Tony enjoys the customer service aspect of his role, in particular meeting clients and Brokers, and where possible satisfying their individual requirements. He places significant emphasis on acquisition of new motor business in conjunction with our fleet underwriters as well as the retention of existing business. Tony also focuses on building up close working relationships with customers as this greatly assists in the handling and settlement of claims.

Anthony has worked in the motor insurance industry for over 25 years, joining Brit Insurance in 2002. His team is involved in handling motor claims for large fleet clients and specific broker accounts. Tony’s team has a wealth of experience controlling all aspects of the motor claims journey and he promotes a strong emphasis on building and maintaining excellent relationships with underwriters, Brokers and clients.

John Parcell
Assistant Branch Claims Manager

John has 33 years’ experience in both Lloyd’s syndicates and insurance companies handling all types of motor claims from private car to fleet and haulage with significant experience liaising with brokers and policyholders. He also assists Tony Skinner in the running of Darlington Branch. Other duties include liaising with our windscreen suppliers and producing management information for motor claims.

Laura Terry
Senior Claims Adjuster - Property

After graduating from the University of Warwick Laura worked for a motor insurance broker before joining Brit Insurance in 2005. She spent eighteen months on the claims graduate scheme handling claims across a range of business classes, before specialising in UK property. Laura has responsibility for both high net worth clients and commercial property claims, as well as managing a number of coverholder accounts. She has recently completed her ACII qualification.

Tom Paddision
Senior Claims Adjuster - Property

Tom has nine years’ claims handling experience, working for both global and UK insurers in the London market and regions. He is a member of the Brit Insurance UK property team, with responsibility for handling large commercial and private line claims and a number of coverholder accounts. Tom is currently studying for his professional qualifications. Tom represents UK Claims in developing continuous system process improvement.

Stephen Tompson
Senior Claims Adjuster - Liability

Stephen has nine years’ experience in UK liability claims. He started as a claims negotiator for a large composite insurance company before moving to a City-based adjusting firm dealing with national clients, many with sizable self-insured retentions. Stephen joined Brit Insurance in 2005. As a key member of the specialist liability team he deals with UK and Irish employers and public liability claims for a diverse portfolio of clients. He is studying for his ACII.

Senior Claims Adjuster - Professional Indemnity

Saba is a Senior Claims Adjuster at Brit Insurance and holds an LLB Hons Degree. Saba has 18 years’ insurance experience including ten years in professional indemnity claims, both UK and international, and six years working at the Solicitors Indemnity fund. Saba works with a wide range of professions and helps to resolve and solve complex claims and disputes.
